Building data infrastructure from scratch
Pierre Corbel was facing a tough task. He was the first member of the data team at Paris-based PayFit, a SaaS platform for payroll and human resources, and he had to set up the infrastructure for the company's data analytics from scratch by himself. He needed to integrate data from multiple sources for business intelligence reporting. Fortunately, he says, he'd already heard of Stitch, and he knew that "the Singer spec, which Stitch integrations are based on, is awesome."
Corbel found Stitch quick to set up, but "we had to work out some legal details concerning the GDPR and our clients' contracts, which took time — but the communication was great." Once that problem was solved PayFit was able to set up integrations for Zendesk, HubSpot, and Jira. "Stitch saved us hundreds of hours of development time we would have had to spend on manual coding," he says.
Today Corbel is the lead data engineer in a data team of seven analysts and engineers. They replicate data into an Amazon Redshift data warehouse and create reports using Looker. And, he says, "We plan to keep it rolling!"
