Placeit is an online tool that provides custom image assets for entrepreneurs, marketers, and other professionals, from design templates to custom logos and every product mockup you can think of.
Like many organizations, says Data Analyst Victor Marin, “We were looking for a way to integrate data from different sources. We wanted to pull together billing and behavioral data from multiple sources, to understand and react to user behavior and customer journey problems, from acquisition to product and payment systems. We had two options: do it in-house, or find an already developed solution. We chose Stitch because it was easy to implement and straightforward to manage, even for non-developers. It doesn’t require much configuration, and its easy deployment and simple interface weighed in its favor.
“Our first integration, with Recurly, took just a few minutes to set up; it was almost a one-click process. We integrated other sources and loaded them into our Google BigQuery data warehouse. The process of getting the whole stack of tools working took about two weeks and is ongoing, as we integrate new tools and extract more data.”

During the implementation phase, Marin says, “We had a problem with BigQuery accepting only append data, which meant duplicate rows unless we cleaned things up. Matt from Stitch’s Support team helped us find the solution within a couple of days.”
Now that Placeit has its data analytics stack in place, Marin says, “We’ve opened the doors to insights we couldn’t easily surface before in the areas of user segmentation, marketing personalization, and problem visibility. We plan on ‘stitching’ more sources as we gather more data to improve user experience and enhance company growth.”
