Online retailer Bonami powers its BI with free Stitch ETL
Bonami is an online marketplace for home decor and furniture based in Prague, serving the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Poland. It was building a new data pipeline, and it needed to replicate data from a MySQL database into a Google BigQuery data warehouse. Bonami then uses Google Data Studio and Tableau to produce BI reports.
Bonami analyst Zdeněk Hejnák says, "We needed a robust solution that wasn't too complex. We also prefer tools that are perfect at one task over all-in-one solutions. And, for us, a free tier is a plus. Stitch gives us all of that."
Getting Stitch set up was simple. "I only needed assistance from our DB admin to create an SSH connection and provide credentials. Once I was connected, Stitch just worked. I was able to start doing analysis just hours after I set up our first replication. It was also great that we could upload all our historical data for free during the initial 14-day trial period. Stitch saved us about 10 man days it would have taken to prepare our solution, and another man day for issue solving."
Bonami started out on Stitch's Free tier, which lets anyone replicate up to five million rows or events every month for free. "One time we went over the transfer limit," Hejnák says, "so I had to talk with Support. The Support team was fast, friendly, and helped us to solve the problem. Soon we plan to go from free to a paid program because we plan to add more tables to replicate."
