Signal Media describes itself as "an artificial intelligence media monitoring company that transforms the world’s information into accessible, actionable business knowledge." As the company's user base increased, it became increasingly more important to start bringing in data to aid decision making.

"We wanted a close-to-real-time way of monitoring how the changes we made to the platform impacted our different user segments," Software Engineer Roshan Bhalla says. To do that, they needed an ETL tool that could extract user events from their own platform, as well as email events (delivered, opened, clicked). Signal also uses data from Salesforce and Intercom.

Bhalla evaluated several ETL platforms, and says a few things put Stitch out in front: "Ease of use, especially when integrating with multiple sources; the ability to set up a free trial, plus an incredibly generous free tier; and close-to-real-time data.

"After discovering Stitch it took me less than a day to have data streaming into our warehouse. We then used Metabase to display a live dashboard on a TV that had people crowding around oohing and aahing.

"Having this real-time understanding of how our platform is being used has given us a level of insight we were previously lacking, and people have started spending more time delving into our data now that it's more accessible than ever."
