This is a big milestone, and I'm incredibly grateful to all of the people who helped us get here. Stitch started as a hackathon project at RJMetrics three years ago and became a standalone company two years ago. At that time, we moved data from a handful of sources into Redshift for a few dozen companies. Today we move data from more than 80 sources into a variety of cloud data warehouses for over a thousand companies. We could not have gotten to this point without our customers, team members (including former RJMetrics team members!), partners, investors, and advisors. Thank you.
What does this mean for Stitch?
We aren't going anywhere. Our customers can expect our product to continue operating as it does today, and we plan to raise the bar in cloud-first, self-service data integration. Talend is investing in Stitch and helping us rapidly scale the business. I will continue to lead the team as SVP of Stitch and report directly to Mike Tuchen, the CEO of Talend.
We are staying in Philadelphia, and our team has accepted offers to join Talend. We plan to hire across every department and grow the team significantly in 2019.
I've long respected Talend as the pioneer in open source data integration. Over the course of the last few months, I've met many members of the Talend team and learned about their organization, products, and strategy. The company is impressive, and it's built upon a mission and set of values that align closely with ours:
Stitch mission statement: To inspire and empower data-driven people
Talend mission statement: To make your data better, more trustworthy, and more available to drive business value
There's a lot that we can learn from each other, and this acquisition will enable us to inspire and empower many more data-driven people.
I'm incredibly excited to continue growing Stitch as part of Talend. If you're not yet using Stitch, sign up here.
